Storm Drain Cleaning in Elyria, OH

Reliable Storm Drain Cleaning Services in Elyria, OH

Dry Well Cleaning and Inspection in Elyria, OH

Dry wells let storm water soak into the ground instead of flowing to a street. They are found on commercial sites, HOA common areas and some residential lots. Silt slowly seals the settling chamber and the drainage rock, slowing how fast water drains. We vacuum the chamber, inspect the inlet and outlet, and check drain-down time. If the dry well no longer drains properly, we explain options for rehabilitation or replacement.

Residential Storm Drain Cleaning in Elyria

Homes in Elyria are particularly vulnerable to storm drain issues due to changing weather and local landscaping. We clear leaves, twigs, silt, and other natural debris that can collect in residential storm drains, preventing rainwater from backing up into yards or foundations. Our service protects your home's perimeter and keeps water moving away from sensitive areas, especially during heavy rain. Heavy spring rain is a major plumbing stress in Ohio, raising water tables and pushing water into basements.

Storm Drain Camera Inspection in Elyria

Before and after cleaning, or to diagnose the cause of persistent blockages, HRL Plumbing offers storm drain camera inspection in Elyria. Using waterproof cameras, we can visually inspect the interior of your storm drain lines to identify the exact nature and location of blockages, assess pipe condition, and check for structural damage like cracks or collapses. This non-invasive diagnostic tool gives accurate problem identification and lets us provide the most effective and targeted cleaning or repair solutions.

Channel and Trench Drain Cleaning in Elyria

Channel drains across driveways and garage entries catch water before it reaches the house. Their narrow channels fill quickly with sand, leaves and debris. We remove the grates, clean the channel and jet the outlet pipe. Cracked or loose grates can be replaced while we are there. A clean trench drain keeps water out of your garage during heavy rain.

Catch Basin Cleaning in Elyria, OH

Catch basins are key parts of any storm drainage system in Elyria, OH, designed to collect runoff and trap debris before it enters the main drain lines. Regular cleaning of catch basins is important to prevent them from becoming overloaded and causing blockages further down the system. Our service includes removing built-up leaves, sediment, trash, and other debris from catch basins, so they work correctly and protect your entire drainage system. This preventative maintenance is key to heading off larger issues.

Root Removal from Storm Drains in Elyria

Tree roots are a common cause of severe storm drain blockages in Elyria, especially in older neighborhoods with mature trees. Roots seek out moisture and can work into drain pipes through tiny cracks or loose joints, growing and eventually completely blocking water flow. HRL Plumbing uses specialized root-cutting attachments on our drain snakes and hydro jetting equipment to cut through and remove root intrusions. After removal, we can suggest further steps to prevent future root problems.

Hydro Jetting for Storm Drains in Elyria, OH

Hydro jetting is a proven solution for deeply clogged storm drains in Elyria, OH. This method uses high-pressure water streams to blast away stubborn obstructions like compacted soil, heavy silt, roots, and grease buildup. It is highly effective for thoroughly cleaning the inside of the pipe walls, restoring the drain to its full capacity and preventing a quick return of blockages, a common issue with older drainage systems.

Downspout and Roof Drain Lines in Elyria, OH

Many homes connect downspouts to buried pipe that carries water away from the foundation. These lines clog with roof granules, leaves and nests, then back up and dump water at the wall. We jet them clear and test with a hose to verify flow at the outlet. For flat roofs with scuppers, we check that the discharge path is open too. Keeping water away from the slab helps protect against soil movement and settling.
